Mia Idiens is a longstanding student at Barrie’s “My Pre-Academy”. My Pre-Academy is a private pre-school for children aged six months to six years offering child care services for infant care up to senior kindergarten.
The educational system offers a well-rounded curriculum focusing on academia, athleticism and art. Additionally, the school instils philanthropy as each month My Pre-Academy hosts a fundraiser the second Friday of each month. This past year, My Pre-Academy’s “Dress Down Friday Fund” chose to support two local charities; MiaThrives and Wyatt’s Warriors. Coincidentally, Mia of MiaThrives and Wyatt of Wyatt’s Warriors just happen to be neighbours! Thank you to My Pre-Academy for supporting both of these children and their families.
MiaThrives is a charitable organization founded by Mia’s parents-Daryl & Melissa Idiens-after Mia’s diagnosis of EB at birth. Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a group of genetic conditions that cause the skin to be very fragile and to blister easily. There is currently no cure for EB. MiaThrives aims to increase awareness about Epidermolysis Bullosa and to help support families affected by EB.
